Your name, your mother’s name, your dates and your totals never leave your device. One thing can: the name of a town, and only when you have typed one we do not already hold. Nothing else, ever.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account to create, no email asked for, and no form that submits anywhere. We do not know who you are and have no way to find out.

What happens to the names and dates you enter

Every calculation runs inside your own browser. Your name, your mother’s name, your date and time of birth, your totals and any question you type are never transmitted. We could not read them if we wanted to. Matching a total against the Qur’an happens on your device too — the index of all 6,236 verses is part of the page.

They are held in your browser’s session storage so that a refresh does not lose your work, and they are cleared when you press Clear everything. They are also meant to go when the tab closes — but browsers are allowed to restore a tab along with its storage, and both iPhone and Android browsers do, so we cannot promise it. On a shared phone, press Clear everything before you put it down.

Two things outlive that, and neither is about you: a flag recording that you dismissed the note about typing in Urdu, and — if you have chosen one — whether you prefer the light or dark appearance. Both hold nothing you typed.

Looking up a town

The planetary hours are measured between a real place’s own sunrise and sunset, so they need coordinates. The app carries a short built-in list of cities, and for any town on it nothing is sent anywhere.

If you type a town that is not on that list, the app offers to ask a public geographic directory — geocoding-api.open-meteo.com — for its coordinates. It only happens if you press the button. Nothing is sent while you type, and declining costs you nothing: you can pick a town from the list, or type coordinates directly.

If you do press it, the town text is the only thing we send — but the request carries what any web request carries: your device’s IP address, the address of this site, and the time. We cannot remove those, and we never add anything else. No cookie, no account, no referrer, and never your name, your mother’s name, a date or a total. Results are labelled found online so you can always see when it happened, and asking twice for the same town does not send twice.

Use my location is optional and never automatic. Your browser will ask your permission first, the coordinates stay on your device, and declining costs you nothing — typing the town does the same job.

Cookies and tracking

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no advertising network. Apart from the town lookup described above, the page makes no requests to any third party — the fonts and all the code are part of the page itself. Three things are kept on your device and nowhere else: what you have typed, for as long as the tab lives; the flag recording that you dismissed the Urdu note; and your appearance preference, if you set one.

Donations

The amounts on the support panel are ordinary links. Nothing is sent anywhere until you follow one, and following one takes you to Stripe, who handle the payment on their own pages under their own privacy terms. We never see, receive or store your card details.

Nothing you have typed into the calculator — your name, your mother’s name, your dates or your totals — is attached to a payment or sent with it. The two are completely separate. When a payment finishes you are returned here with nothing but a marker in the address bar saying it succeeded, which is removed as soon as the page reads it.

A monthly gift can be stopped at any time. If Stripe’s receipt carries a link to manage it, that is the quickest route; if it does not, write to [email protected] and it will be stopped for you. We hold no record of it ourselves, so we cannot stop one you have not told us about.

Children

The site collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this ever changes — if a feature is added that genuinely needs a server — it will be said plainly here and on the page itself before it takes effect, not buried in an update to this document.
